Well, maybe you shouldn't align yourself with someone who is clearly not a reasonable person. I replied to your post and not his because I think you have made an effort to make a point. I still don't understand what you think is so different from other forum software. For example, the front index on UBB (and all it's clones) is a bunch of table cells with statistics. Why don't I do that? Because it will not load the items as it finds them and will force the user to wait for his browser to draw it. This leads to complaints about speed. I tried that a long time ago.
UBB has a list of forums and stats as an entry point. I plan to do this also, but only once all forums are switched. I plan to give more info than UBB since I can easily do so.
UBB lists threads and thread responses in a guest-book style list. I do not like this at all and find that it makes a thread unnatural.
As I said, I can implement features that I think are valuable from other software.
Suggesting the only changes are more messages and images has to be insincere. If you have not spent the time to look at the software, perhaps you should refrain from expressing your opinion about it (and aligning yourself with the originator of this thread). I am not resisting criticism here. I am looking for it. And for the fourth time, "I like that other thing better" is not criticism. It's abstract and useless. So you like the other stuff better. Since I don't know what that means to me, and I don't know what it's like to be you, I don't know how it can be constructive. Sorry, that's just the way it is.
Thanks you for your input. I hope you'll give more.
