I had the same problem, only it caused the shock mount to fail. Since it's not a volvo shock, the shaft is slightly smaller. I made a bushing of my own and fixed the problem. I went to the hardware store and bought some larger bushings out of those drawers, as I had nothing around the house. I then cut and filed them down to fit exactly. I used a metal blend bushing, not plastic, and it's been fine ever since.
