Interior lights not always working... S70 1998

Klaus,

ok, so when it happens neither light by your feet come on, but the rest of the lights come on.

It doesn't happen enough that I've been able to really pin point it to a side yet.

But back to your description of what to do.

I have a spare locking mechanism here in front of me, drivers side front, the connectors are pointing down and I'm looking at the side that would be facing in. I see a micro toggle switch at the top.

Below the section that locks to the striker plate I can see two other micro switches.

Which one of these are you talking about, or is it not part of this mechanism?

Also, do I need to remove the door panel, but not the locking mechanism to get to this micro switch that you are talking about, and finally, do you have a diagram of the relay's location under the steering column. I agree that is a pain to get to, but I need to know which relay to replace if I have to.

Thanks,

Matt
