Hi Klaus, It sounds to me that she was an around town shopping etc type of driver and the car was not meant for cross country travel , I wouldnt hesitate to go cross country with mine , you do have a point in that the longer wheelbase is a smoother riding car but I dont believe it is that great a difference :)
