Not really. But, it may be due to the TCU 'learning' how the previous driver drove the car. Assuming you don't need to get the car tested within the next month or so for emissions, disconnect the battery for about 20 minutes. That should restart the 'learning' process.

But, then again, why would you want your son to become a lead footed driver?
