The only 'problem' with used DIMs is the odometer. Memory is kept in the DIM.

The safest bet is to send it to Xemodex.com You will need to supply VIN and odometer reading. No reprogramming on your part.

EDIT: I just responded to your ID request! I am glad you don't have full blown dementia!! like I do.
