Before you rip it out and send it off...

Is the climate control on 'auto' and temps set to a reasonable temperature.

Have you tried to vacuum out the dirt and dust from the sensor? That small grill above the right hand side temp selector.

If you only get cold air, is the engine coolant temperature gauge in the normal range?

Did you replace the battery? Attach a battery 'minder' to keep the voltage above 12.5V?

The climate control module may need only to be 'reprogrammed'. A mechanic with a VIDA/DICE may be able to retrieve codes, if any are present.
