I bought a 2016 S80 T5 today. It was used with 20K miles on it. This is the last year of the S80 which has been replaced by a new S90. If you have not been keeping up, all of the new Volvos are 2.0L four cylinder engines. The number in the model number no longer tells you the number of cylinders. There are three engines, T5, T6, and T8. The T5 is turbo only. The T6 is supercharged turbo. The T8 is a hybrid with both the gasoline engine and an electric engine.
These engines are start stop technology. It is a complicated algorithm as to when it stops the engine. I drove 85 miles home and the only time I noticed the engine stop was when I stopped in my driveway.
There are lots of features that are controlled with no touch screen. This car has Sirius XM, Bluetooth, and navigation. After I figured out how to set the average fuel economy, I saw as high as 37 MPG on the road and it runs on regular gas. Our 2007 S80 3.2 requires premium fuel.
