I was ready to attempt it yesterday. I used a floor jack on the inboard side of the rear control arm and raised it as high as the jack goes. Didn't look like there was clearance to withdraw the shock. The distance from the lower end of the shock mounted in the arm, to the ground, was at least 6-8" shorter than the shock I'm trying to fit. I didn't start the job because stacking blocks under the jack stands seemed risky.
