Prop shaft V70-XC70 2004

Not only do the rear wheels have to be off the ground, the transmission has to be in N with the Ebrakes off.

The easy removal of the prop shaft refers to 1998-2003 cars, those without Haldex. You could pull the Haldex fuse to turn Haldex off for now and see if that helps drive-ability, at least the Haldex unit will stop buzzing.

The link I referred you to was for an "R" model, which is harder to work on because it is 2.3 inches lower to the ground and the exhaust gets in the way.

You might want to consult a shop familiar with Volvos and ask for an estimate. Keep in mind, or even mention www.xemodex.com to the shop as an alternative to getting a dealer part.
