You title points toward a bad ignition switch.
I assume you're looking for a non-dealership mechanic who can help you.

A few details always help. Is your ignition switch jamming up (refusing to turn at all or turning to position 1 only?

The switch barrel itself is simple to R&R. You must order an OE part using your serial number. Several places can sell you this part, not just dealers.
