I don't see why a $5,000 budget shouldn't get you a decent 245. I don't know about TN but we visit our two kids in Winston-Salem a few times a year and I always check on Craigslist and usually see at least a few 245's between W-S, Charlotte and northern SC. Don't spend your entire budget on the car itself -- always leave yourself a reserve of 10-20 percent for the unforeseen repairs that will always be needed on a used car.
