If it was just a loose gas cap, it will take about 3 drives to clear the CEL.

The O2 sensors don't live forever. Rule of thumb for replacement is 120K miles for the front, the rear O2 sensor lasts much longer. The sensors usually have the pre-heat element wear out in short, cold engine trips. Long distance highway miles are good for the sensors.
