Just for the heck of it I called the sales guy that sold us the Certified car. He said that to turn off that reminder is a software update. I e-mailed asking how much would that cost. He said call the service department.

I just called the service department and they told me I need a software update, she'll check about the cost to me and get back to me.

What the heck. I thought the sales guy would say because that issue existed at the time of purchase, that can be turned off, no charge. It was the previous overs Volvo on Call and it should have been fixed before I got the car.

This is the stuff that did drive me a bit crazy with my previous Volvo's. They nickel and dime you on this stuff but in their case....it isn't nickels but a lot of dollars.

I hope it does go off in two weeks.

I hope there is still a way to turn off those silly service reminders. I threw the protocol away when I got rid of my last VOlvo's. I'll need to find it.
