Question about FWD/AWD models on RWD forum

It's the early AWD cars that have issues with their drive system. 2004+ AWD should be fine.

FYI- The 1999+ cars have more complicated electronics than the early cars. Electronic throttle, tranny software, DIM issues etc.

I totally agree with you regarding older BMW's! I prefer the way RWD handles over FWD or AWD. In addition to owning 3 Volvos, I owned quite a few older RWD BMW's - a 1600, 3-2002's and a 3 series... The drawback to BMW's is the cost of maintenance is even higher than Volvo! Although I have heard the early 2000's 3 series are good cars.

Let us know if you need more help with selecting a FWD Volvo. Here in the AWD/FWD forum we are always glad to help.

Enjoy the holiday liquid samplings...:) and the season!!
