A disconnected MAF will not have an effect on idle. A loose ECU will cause all sorts of problems. It could be possible that some of the contacts at the ECU base got dirty or corroded during the 'loose' period. You may want to disconnect the battery, remove the ECU and clean the contacts.

But the throttle body should be cleaned, regardless of any other problems. Be on the look out for any cracked vacuum lines, fouled spark plugs, etc.
