This car was a lemon from the start. We bought it from a Volvo dealer at ~95K miles. Within 2 weeks the engine developed some very nasty noises deep within the crankcase. Dealer dragged their feet at the hassle it was causing them, but replaced it with a used engine with, they said, 77K miles on it. Date codes on the castings say it's a 2009. According to my mechanic that engine shouldn't even exchange with the 2015. This was all made more intolerable because this particular dealer was 120 miles away. Their front desk stopped taking my calls.
We cut our losses with them a long time ago. Now happy to say we've cut bait on the car too. Purchased a 2018 XC60T6 from a very local and highly reputed Volvo-only independent dealer and servicer. We are confident he'll stand behind this car if there's a problem. He'll fix our old one and turn a profit. We all walk (drive) away happy.
I've attached a picture of the #3 plug. Yikes.
