A follow up and more on this.

Additional dash warning lights are on, now there are four: ABS, TRACS, Check Engine (all orange) and red BRAKE.

Worth commenting is that these were sudden "hard" light warnings; i.e., no gradual or intermittent light warnings as is apparently typical with a failing ABS Control module. The warning lights suddenly appeared one cold morning on startup and they have stayed on continuously since.

I swapped the ABS control module for a MIDWEST ABS reconditioned unit. The four warning lights are still on after the swap.

Good service from MIDWEST, I spoke with Matt at MIDWEST. We went over the procedures and symptoms; he suggested other "external" trouble possibilities like check fuses, re-seat ECM (I did, no change), bad chassis grounds, faulty ignition switch, frayed or damaged wiring (rodents at work?). That's a lot of trouble shooting to work through. BTW, the speedo and odo still work; the cruise control now does not work.

Matt will scan the ABS module removed from the car when he receives it and let me know the results. I now have a feeling that the old module was good and it's something else.

Not sure where to go next. Probably checking grounds.

BTW the cars runs, handles and brakes normally with four warning lights illuminated. No issues.
