My 1995 850 Turbo is in the Volvo garage at this very moment for a "Check Engine" light problem. Disconnecting the battery would not clear the problem. In my case it was a bad 02 Sensor. Parts and labor this is going to cost me $540.00. Not a Merry Christmas deal!
