Paint + sap = big problems 850 1996

I've found in the past that if you keep sap wet for long enough it will come off easily; it's water soluble after all, just slow to dissolve. I first found this when the car had been standing out in the rain overnight. No risk of scratching the paint this way. You could try keeping a wet sponge on it for a few hours. Good luck.
