Flashing Up Arrow Again/ Trouble Starting 850 1994

Have you checked the tranny fluid level? No personal BTDT, but, the previous owner of our 1994 850t wagon had a tranny fluid hose fail at the connection to the cooler (radiator) right before we bought the car and they indictaed that they noticed the up arrow flashing when this occured. It may be as simple as that...HTH and good luck.
