First of all my 1994 850 has been local dealer maintained since new. I have had it for a year and just picked up all the service records. Never has anything been missed and the car is like brand new with 61k on it.
The common problems on this car match the usual; PNP switch at 24k and 37k, microswitch at 24k and needs it now, A/C evaporator, accumulator at 42k, sunroof repairs, and upper torque arm bushing at 24k being the major items. The standout item is the brakes!
This currently very clean and cherry 850 is on it's 4th master cylinder (replacements at 16k, 33k, 42k). Front rotors and pads were replaced at 16k and 42k. Rear rotors and pads were replaced at 42k. Brakes are strong now and wearing fine.
What's the deal with the master cylinders? and are rotors notorious also?
The only current issue?... here comes the microswitch again. Thank God I have a full warranty for three more years and to 100k miles. I guess that one's gonna pay off.
