The German-speaking Robert Lutz (fired by Daimler Chrysler recently so he couldn't get too close the the German high command there) is now at GM and has been given the authority to redesign the entire GM product spread - and he's begun killing off products slated for production, is redsigning others, and will scrap the rest (including the Aztec and its derivatives). I saw a spread in this week's time magazine featuring some very nice looking, sporty cars. Sure, some of it is superficial (he developed the PT Cruiser, a sport-utility hearse) but also the Viper and some other classy DC things. He is committed to beautiful cars.
