Mass Air Flow Sensor V70-XC70 1999

Hi Janet,

The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor should be replaced on failure. There is no reason to replace the sensor due to mileage or time.

The MAF sensor fails safe. That is when a MAF sensor goes bad the car will still run. You will just get a check engine light.

However, the Oxygen sensor should be replace according to the Volvo owner's manual recommendation. Which I believe is around 100K miles.

Good Luck,

Steven---
