If you really cannot get it out you could try removing the body piece below the head light and taking the lens off. However, I think that it probably would be VERY difficult to put the lens back on.
On my 95, the body piece below the headlight just pulls off, start in the middle of the car. Take a good look behind the body piecw with a bright flashlight before you start. The light also comes in handy when you are putting it back on.
Your other option would be to remove the entire headlight assembly. I really do not know how hard this process is, but removing the directional signal is quite easy. With the body piece and the directional out, you might see how to remove the headlight.
