Do make sure you've checked the vacuum hoses..


On my 94 850 Turbo, the main hose routed off the top of the vacuum pump has numerous cracks that along with a few other cracks on other vacuum lines, cause a chorus of high-pitched whines... replacement hoses are backed-ordered from the Volvo dealership, so deliberate use of electricians tape has temporarily squelched the "symphony of destruction"
