no start - no electrolyte - bad battery -arrghh.

Good morning-

So the wifes car had a flat, and my T5 wouldn't start. Could have been a bad Saturday, if it hadn't been for the rustbucket 245 in the driveway, saved my butt.

Anyways...
My 1998 S70 T5M was sluggish to start for a few days. Then it wouldn't start at all. When I borrowed a battery charger from the neighbor, we took a look into the cells on the battery. Of the 6, 4 appeared empty, 2 appeared low. I filled them with distilled water, then charged it for about 6 hours. It started fine, and drove fine. It even re-started.

The next day, dead again.

1. Should I bother re-charging it, or start shopping?
2. Any consensus on the best battery - best price?
3. purely opinion - I paid the dealership for the 30K servicce 2 months ago. I doubt the battery could have gone completely dry like like so fast. Maybe they didn't bother to check the electrolyte level?

Thanks in advance
Joe
