Heater not working properly.... 850 1997

On my 97 850-R, the heater fan switch quit working. Your problem may be in the same mechanism. The dealer wanted $250 to fix it. They did it under warranty even though it was a month after expiration.

Suggestions:

Have the dealer check the codes--maybe one isn't set correctly.
The thermostat on the heater switch may be about to blow.
If you know how, pull the unit from the dash and visually inspect it for problems. Maybe it is an easy fix such that you can do it yourself.
