Oil Plug Leak 850 1996

It is true that dissimilar metals can produce electochemical corrosion. But I believe that the principal reason for using aluminum washers is that they are softer and don't have to be torqued as much in order to deform. This protects the threads on the aluminum oil pans the 850/S70's have. Copper washers are commonly used with steel oil pans like I think older Volvos have.
