I've got the SO2's also and had the Michelins before. I didn't notice much difference in the ride when I made the switch. I did notice a huge improvement from the Pirellis. I think the Pirellis were backwards engineered from tractor tires. Absolutely the worst tire I have ever owned.
I have the T5R with the "sport" (read, "shake my fillings loose") suspension and have just learned to deal with it. I am planning on going to the bilstein, IPD springs in the next month or so. I've heard its actually a little better than the stock sport suspension.
