well there is a really simple way to tell actually. when you floor it do you get sucked into teh seats or simply and lightly pushed. if you get the impression that the car "hauls ass" then its obviously a High pressure. if you the power swells at 3k then its def a HP turbo. if the power is linear and there isnt that much of it (relative to the HPT) then its LPT and yes, there really arent many perf. options.
