CJ,

By all means GET THE OIL FILTER WRENCH. When you're ordering the filters from IPD you can get their filter wrench at the same time. This is IMPORTANT because the filter housing is plastic and you DON'T want to use your strap wrench removal tool to take it off because you could crack the housing.

The IPD wrench makes it a snap because you can put your ratchet directly on the wrench and spin off the filter. Getting the filter started in the threads in the block takes a bit of effort because you have to compress the filter a bit. Be sure that the threads on the filter housing are properly engaged into the block or you'll strip the threads on the filter housing.

When you buy the filters, make sure you get the aluminum gaskets for the oil drain plug and be sure and put a new one on for each oil change. (Don't forget to put the new o-ring on the filter housing. The o-ring comes with the Volvo filters, hopefully they come with the 6-pack from IPD as well.)

I switched to Mobil-1 on my cars (I have an S60 and S80) because the six-pack at
Costco was only $22. Well worth the switch to the full synthetic vs. the semi-synthetic the factory uses.

Best of luck.
