antenna mast installation problem 850 1996

I had same problem after installing a new antenna. There is a little part that I thought as part of old antenna. In reality it served as a spacer that goes over the antenna rod before the final nut is put on.

Check your old antenna - as I recall it is about 2" long with a flange on one end and fits snug over the thick end of the mast.
