Glove Box 850 1994

My glove box door is stuck closed and cannot be opened. My Volvo dealer tells me to remove the door will take two hours of labor and a replacement door is about $70. Anybody know of a faster (more economical) way to remove the door?

I love the car, a station wagon with 126,000 miles on it, but this type of pesky problem is driving me nuts.
