Amsoil engine flush/16 oz. can 850

I have a 97 850-R, 55,000 miles from new, and recently switched to Valvoline pure synthetic 5w-40 $4.45 qt from regular 5w-30 quaker state without flushing the system. I have had zero problems. I don't know what the hype is about either?
