identifying a noise S70 1998

Hi all,

I have a new noise that's quite concerning. When I first start accelerating after the engine's been off for a while, I hear this low, groaning noise that sounds like I'm driving with the parking brake on (I'm not). It makes me wonder if something is rubbing because it doesn't seem to accelerte as easily. It only happens with acceleration; not idling. Also seems to be vibrating more then the usual amount of annoying vibration. It only happens the first few accelerations, then goes away. The faster I accelerate, the higher pitch the sound gets. It only happens after the car has been sitting idle for a while; with or without the hand brake on. Lot's of possibilities as to the problem I'm guessing. Any thoughts?

Thanks
