coolant S70 1998

Some coolant will be lost during normal operation, especially in warmer weather. Look to see if you have a drain tube, or a recovery tube that's loose.

If you were losing coolant to the oil, that would be a disaster (cracked head or head gasket) - the telltale would be beads of green on the end of your dipstick, and oil contaminating your coolant reservoir. And this is rare in Volvos - even old ones.
