Brian,

Thanks for the link. I printed out the instructions, removed the stereo, and spent 30 mins trying to find the micro-switch, but to no avail. I even took the lid off and poked around inside, but I still couldn't find it.

It's very odd, because the instructions are for this model stereo... Maybe they did some minor upgrades to the SC 816 that involved moving that switch. Oh well. I guess I'll have to take it to the mechanic after all.
