Wheel Refinishing 850 1997

I had to have 3 wheels redone because some monkeys damaged the wheels going nuts with the air gun. They scratched the area around the holes pretty badly, enough that they paid for it all. It ran about $45 a piece, and it looked pretty good. You could tell the difference if you put the 4th wheel right up to one of the others, but on the car you couldn't tell. So, I'd probably do all 4 if I had to do it again. I had thought about doing the 'Brilliant Smoke' color that the new M5's have, but they couldn't guarantee that it would look the same since the exact chemicals needed to reproduce that finish are banned because of toxicity in the US. I used a local company (CO) Trudesign Wheel, I looked into Wheel Collision in PA, but shipping was close to $150 round trip. Luckily I had winters that I could put on while they refinished them. It took about 2 weeks. You also have to get the tires mounted and rebalanced, so it is an undertaking getting the whole thing done.

Good Luck
