Scorched Seat 850 1994

I just did my seat last week. Same symptoms except the leather wasn't burnt. Take the seat out, remove (cut) all the hog rings off and peel the seat cover back. It is a bit tricky to slide the new heater element back far enough but with some wiggling it will go. I don't recommend new hog rings. Use a good quality ty-wrap and justb pull them tight and cut them, worked fine for me.
