kevin, the shift lock means you can shift out of Park when the car isn't running. This shift lock is a safety device so you can't take it out of Park accidentally. The shift overrides this. The Econony light is green and sport like is yellow. Winter works on economy light and there should be an orange arrow lighting up on right side on instrument panel.
