You know your Cat. Converter is bad when... 850 1994

Rotton Egg Smell sounds Fuel related. Like your car is running super rich. I don't know of any way to check your cat without some kind of sniffer like on Smog Check machines.

If this is all of a sudden then I would suggest that something either broke or is leaking. Failing cat's usually are due to rich fuel mixtures don't usually invoke sudden performance changes.
