remote keyless won't work 850 1993

Well, as luck would have it, I found someone here who has a crashed 850 he is using for parts. Pulled the receiver from the side of the dash next to the glovebox, pluggged it into my car, and everything works. My old receiver shows nothing obvious, but it has transistors and capacitors and resistors in it, so I bet something gave up in there. Will just have to offer my friend something for his old receiver and I am set!
