Thanks for the advice. I'll check the ground to see if it's good. Both terminals were tight. I check with a digital VOM and found no variation from the terminal to the post on both Pos and Neg.
I did have the alt. tested in the car this morning at my local alt shop. With a load test, they said it looks like the alt is not working right. But they would want to do a bench test to see. Hopefully it's just a faulty regulator or diode. Ideally it would be just a bad ground.

Do you know of any tips or tricks or special tools on removing the alt on the Volvo. I've removed others on other makes, but never on a volvo.
