I just ordered a OBDII Code Scanning kit for 142.00. It connects to a laptop or PC's serial port and your Car's OBDII port. It will reset the "Check Engine" light an reset the "Service" light, as well as read both engine and transmission ECU's. IT will also access and reset the ECC (A/C lights) trouble lights on the AC panel.
This will pay for itself the first time i use it. My check engine light is on because the gas cap was left loose, and my Service Light is on. Also i have a minor fault in the AC and thoose two little amber lights are blinking at start up (temp sensor- only blows full hot or full cold no in between). You should consider getting this tool if you do your own mainteneance.
