Okay here is an update on the open cone filter. It works nicely when the engine is cold and works great for low end speed but I felt a loss of power at high end speed so switched back to the box PiperCross filter.
Also ducting it blows. If you duct it you're going to have to clean that baby out at least once a week to keep crap from building up.
I thought maybe making some port covers and only taking it off for racing at nights on the streets but still you have the problem with heat under the hood.
And heatshields? whats the point of having an open cone filter then?
