I agree with Andrew. I own a 1998 S70 GLT and really like the car for many reasons. However, reliability is not one of them. A lot of problems occurred in the first 50k miles and were covered under warranty. Since going out of warranty, I have had to put on a sway bar link, air pump and check valve, and oxygen sensor. I need to have the front calipers replaced at some point in time due to defective dust boots. Parts are expensive and the Volvo dealers charge a lot for labor. I do most of my own work when possible and order parts mail order. I also owned a 1986 740 Turbo and had similar experience. Bottom line, nice car( with a very stiff ride) but expensive to maintain. Also, bear in mind that Consumer Reports list the 1998 S70 as a used car to avoid.
