Hey man! I do the same alcohol thing too. What I think it does is strip off a layer of old oxidized rubber, leaving a new fresh layer to contact the window. I wasn't exactly sure it was working as I never get chatter, but did it anyways because of the dirt/rubber/black stuff, I was removing when doing so.

How are the HID's? Fill me in.
