Hi Robo,
I checked the gas pedal last night and found that linkage which you mentioned was not connected at all. I connected it back and cruise control worked again. Moreover, I found out that the 2 constant spring clamps for the drain hoses next to the firewall weren't connected after the evaporator was replaced. The whole repair was a louzzy job. I won't go back to Boston Volvo service department again. I will stay with Dalzell Volvo in Dedham where I bought my car. A small size dealer is much easier to work with than the bigger size dealer like Boston Volvo.
For now, I am still waiting for the service rep. from Boston Volvo to call me to fix my aftermarket alarm. They broke my alarm during the evaporator repair but they didn't say a thing about it when I picked up my car but only wrote down in the invoice : "broke the alarm switch during repair, not a Volvo part". He tried to get away from the damage by saying "not a Volvo part". I insisted to have the alarm fix back to the working state. He danced around and finally saying that he will contact their aftermarket alarm guy to fix my alarm. So far not call from the service rep. yet !!
