Not sure about the O2 sensor and don't have my owners manual in front of me for schedualed replacement.

As for grinding into reverse. Make sure you're at a complete stop before shifting into reverse. Other than that I usually shift into 4th then reverse as that helps to stop the internals in the transmission from spinning and therefore no grind.
